Submission Guidelines
Editorial Rules
a) Authors are strongly encouraged to keep manuscripts to less than 40 pages in total length, including tables and references;
b) The body of the manuscript and the references list should be in Times New Roman font, size 12 and 1.5 spacing; footnotes in in Times New Roman font, size 10 and 1 spacing 1;
c) Footnotes must be used instead of endnotes, and their number and length should be kept to a minimum;
d) Primary headings should be centered, using Roman numerals, and subsection headings should begin at the left margin;
e) Tables should be able to stand alone; column headings should be descriptive and easily understood;
f) All variables and abbreviations should be defined.
g) Tables and equations should be numbered with Arabic numerals, and figures with Roman numbers. Equation numbers should be enclosed in parentheses and placed in the right margin.
h) Each table or figure should be presented on a separate page; for publication purposes, figures must be available in electronic form;
i) Manuscripts should follow the Chicago Manual of Style.
Submission Procedures
a) Until the journal’s workflow-management system is active, the submission is done, exclusively, to the E-mail address: erbe_editorial@autonoma.pt, in two versions in Adobe Acrobat Reader (PDF) and Microsoft Word (DOCX): a complete version and a blind version;
b) The complete version, with a first page including:
A centered title in Times New Roman font, size 14 bold, 1 spacing
The name(s) of the author(s) in alphabetical order, the academic / scientific affiliation(s), and e-mail address(es);
A single paragraph abstract of no more than 150 words;
After the abstract, up to five JEL classification code(s) and up to five keywords chosen by the author(s) reflecting the content of the article;
A footnote, not sequentially numbered, including acknowledgments and other information about the work, namely, its corresponding author and respective E-mail address, and, a declaration about possible conflicts of interest, either in relation to the object of the work, or to any funding entities, explaining, if any, how they may have affected the exemption of the work;
c) The blind version must exclude any references to identifying elements of the author(s), such as name, affiliation, acknowledgments, or any other nature. Failure to comply with this requirement implies the automatic rejection of the manuscript.
d) With the submission, the author (s) must attach a signed declaration, of authoring the work and of compliance with the ethical values of anti-plagiarism.
e) The Board reserves the right to reject works that, materially or conceptually, conflict with the rules and ethical values of ERBE.
